Sylvie Dillard

Sylvie Dillard was the President of Conseil de la science et de la technologie until March 2011.
Over the years, Ms. Dillard has held a variety of responsible positions in the Quebec
provincial administration. She was Managing Director of Policies, Department of Industry,
Trade and Technology; Assistant Deputy Minister , Department of Health and Social Services;
President and CEO of Fonds FCAR (Fonds pour la formation des chercheurs et l'aide à la recherche)
and President and CEO of FQRNT (Fonds québécois de recherche sur la nature et les technologies)
(2001-2008). She has dedicated her carrier to the scientific and economic development of Quebec.
After obtaining a degree in economics from the University of Paris, Ms. Dillard subsequently
earned a Master’s in economics from Université Laval in Quebec City.
She has served on the boards of numerous organisations dedicated to the enhancement of
research and innovation. Most recently, she was on the Board of the Caisse de dépôt et
placement du Québec from 2002 to 2008. She was president of ASDEQ (Association des
économistes du Québec) in 2010.
