Robert Orr’s management career spans over 25 years at the senior management level in the nutritional ingredient, marine biotech, food retailing, food wholesaling and retail advertising industries. His breadth of experience ranges from creation and management of several startup companies to responsibility for large multi-national corporate division operations with annual revenues in excess of $1 billion.

Over the last ten years, Robert has been responsible for the startup, financing and growth of Ocean Nutrition Canada Ltd., Canada’s fastest growing marine life science and functional food ingredients company. By focusing its efforts on the growing global demand for science based, health and nutrition products, Ocean Nutrition has built a unique position in the dietary supplement and functional food sectors.

Under Orr’s leadership, Ocean Nutrition has established itself as the leading supplier of concentrated Omega 3’s EPA and DHA extracted from fish oil to the global dietary supplement industry and now enjoys greater than fifty percent market share in the North American market. Through its patented micro-encapsulation technology, Ocean Nutrition is also delivering health-giving Omega 3s, in easy to formulate powder form, to major food companies around the globe. Ocean Nutrition is the established leader in supplying EPA and DHA Omega 3 solutions for functional foods from orange juice and infant formula to staples like milk and bread.
