he film The Score is based on a theatrical play that explores the world of genetic science. The work was commissioned by Dr. Michael Hayden of Vancouver's Centre for Molecular Medicine & Therapeutics and is based on daily activities of genetic researchers who work in a discovery-laden laboratory.
The Score examines the essential irony of genomic and proteomic research: that while we are able to understand more about our genetic composition, do we really want to know all of that information, especially if it indicates a predisposition to disease or other negative consequences?
