The regional Genome Centres are independent entities that receive operational support from Genome Canada, provincial governments, and others. The Centres play a critical role in a number of areas:
- Secure regionally-based partners to co-invest in genomics projects that cross provincial and national borders;
- Ensure effective management and monitoring of Genome Canada-funded projects;
- Facilitate access to leading edge technology for researchers; and,
- Deliver public outreach at a regional level.
